Turn Your Wounds Into Wisdom – Wisdom Unplugged

Thank you for joining us for our 5 days per week wisdom and legacy building podcast. This is Day 665 of our trek, and it is time for a 3-minute mini-trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.
Today quote is from Oprah Winfrey, and it is, “Turn your wounds into wisdom.”
Turn Your Wounds Into Wisdom
So often we bemoan our wounds, hurts, trials, and tragedies as something that is harmful to us, and incidents that should be avoided at all cost. We will all experience obstacles, hardships, and difficult times…It is part of living. Instead of being downhearted and allowing them to defeat us and make us ineffective, let us learn from them, gain wisdom from these experiences, and grow into stronger and more mature persons.
Every experience and situation can positively impact our lives so that we can then more effectively positively impact the lives of others. Turn every situation into an opportunity to grow in wisdom, insight, and understanding.
As James, the half-brother of Jesus wrote in his letter James 1:2-8,
“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”

With these thoughts in mind, we will conclude our trek for today and as we do, let’s make a mindshift change that we can change the world.

Such sad and depressing language. If death is nothing more than “the end of everything, between two peaks, which brings no meaning to life,” what is the purpose of even trying to die bravely? What if these purported wise philosophers missed the mark? Suppose death is different than they thought, less of a curse or end of all that we know, and more of a passageway between two realms? Not a crises to be avoided, but simply a corner to be turned?
Many do the same for another one of Christ promises in the familiar verse of

As I emphasize and mention quite often, life is like a trek up a mountain. We take one step at a time as we go through days that are difficult and days that are easy. The key is to make sure we keep moving forward.
