Reunion and Podcast Movement Recap
During the past 18 months, we have been very busy with renovations to The Big House in Marietta leading up to our family reunion July 4th weekend. The past 2 months we have utilized every free moment trying to wrap up some of the projects that we wanted to finish before the reunion. We were able to finish most of them and had a great weekend sharing with family and enjoying the fruits of our labor. The weather was great and the family had a great time at the family homestead.
The day after the reunion finished, Paula and I headed to Chicago for the Podcast Movement Conference. It was a great conference, we learned a lot and enjoyed collaborating with existing friends and making many new friends.
I had the opportunity to speak at one of the PMx (think TEDx) sessions prior to the start of the conference about the “10 Truths for Creating a Living Legacy Through Podcasting.” The talk went well, and I was privileged to have this opportunity. If you would like a copy of the transcript from the talk please text the word LEGACYPMx to 44222, and it will be emailed to you.
Wisdom-Trek was also nominated for the 2016 Academy of Podcasters Award in the Religion and Spirituality category, which was truly an honor. While we did not win the award but it was great to be nominated. Andy Stanley’s Leadership Podcast won the award, which is well deserved as his podcast is very good.
It has been a very busy and exciting time for us, and we are looking forward to being able to focus on releasing the Wisdom-Trek monthly journals, building out the Christian Podcasting Network, and releasing the online version of Your Life Plan Blueprint. These three projects will certainly keep us busy for the remainder of this year, especially considering that we will have to combine this with our normal client workload through our Venture Consulting business.
As my Grandma B used to say, “No rest for the wicked, and the good don’t need any.” I will leave it up to you to make the judgment of which category we fall into.
