Hello, my friend, I am Guthrie Chamberlain, your captain on our journey to increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy.  Thank you for joining us today as we explore wisdom on our 2nd millennium of podcasts. This is Day 1287 of our Trek and since this is Christmas week, instead of a funny story, I will read a series of Christmas questions written by David Veerman for us to ponder this season.  Consider this your vitamin supplement of joy for today.  So let’s jump right in with today’s reading which is titled:

Christmas Questions

How could you LOVE
creatures of shame
defying your word,
defiling your name?

How could you LEAVE
your heavenly throne,
descending to earth
to make us your own?

How could you LIVE
here, in Mary’s womb,
a perfect baby, boy, and man
from the manger to the tomb?

Overwhelmed with the truth
of your humble submission
coming in the flesh and
completing your mission

I ask, how can I LOVE
those far and near
praying and telling
your truth made clear?

And how can I LEAVE
comfort and ease
at Spirit’s urging
just you to please?

And how can I LIVE
what the gospel reveals,
in values and actions,
so transparent and real?

O Jesus, the Christ,
the incarnate Word,
crucified, risen,
my Savior and Lord

These Christmas reminders
of your grace and mercy abound
to this desperate sinner
so lost but now found!I hope that will give you something to think about today.  Our Thursday thought is: “ Blessed is the season that engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love.”
