Invest Time Wisely – Wisdom Unplugged
Thank you for joining us for our 5 days per week wisdom and legacy building podcast. This is Day 632 of our trek, and it is time for a 3-minute mini-trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.
Today’s quote is from Michael Levy, and it is, “Time is our most precious asset; we should invest it wisely.”
You may have heard the saying “Time is Money,” but do you really believe it? Frequently I have observed that how a person views money, is how they also view time. Do you spend money without thinking about how that will impact your long-term financial well-being? What about time? How do you spend your time?
The principles of planting and harvesting apply to both. If you consider time as a precious resource, you will look for ways to invest your time so that it produces a good return on that investment.
Time truly is our most precious asset because it is the only resource that we have which is finite. You cannot accumulate time for later. You cannot buy time with any amount of money. The only way to expand your time is to invest it wisely by pouring yourself into those that you mentor and impact.
You came into this world with nothing, and you will leave this world with nothing. The only wealth that you will accumulate is the time you invested in the lives of others. Your impact will live on well beyond your natural life. If you invest wisely in others, they will also take that investment and pour into the lives of others, and the cycle will continue on for generations to come.
The next time you think about how to spend your time, change your wording to investing your time. If you make a habit of this, then it will change your thinking about time and how you invest it. It is then that you will realize how valuable your time really is.
The Apostle Paul wrote in his letter in Ephesians 5:15-17, “So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.”
Make the most of every opportunity by investing your time into the lives of others in service to God.
