How Simple – Wisdom Unplugged
Wisdom – the final frontier to true knowledge. Welcome to Wisdom-Trek! Where our mission is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. Hello, my friend, I am Guthrie Chamberlain, your captain on our journey to increase Wisdom and Create a Living Legacy. Thank you for joining us today as we explore wisdom on our 2nd millennium of podcasts. This is Day 1450 of our Trek, and it is time for our 3-minute mini trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little bit of additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom for today. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget:
Today’s quote is from Gerald Jompolsky, and it is: How simple it is to see all the worry in the world cannot control the future. How simple it is to see that we can only be happy now and that there will never be a time when it is not now.
How Simple
Worry is so self-destructive since no amount of worry will result in a positive change in any situation. Worry in no way will control the future, except for the possibility of allowing circumstances to slide in a downward spiral. Only action can affect change, which will enable you to control the outcome of the future. Tied closely to worry is the impact that it will have on your happiness of your current situation in life. We only can be happy now, because there is never a time which is not the present. We can look forward to the possibility of a future time, but if worry steals from us the ability to be happy now, then there is little chance we will be happy when the future is now. So we must choose today not to worry, and we must choose today to be happy. That does not mean we don’t take action today to change our current circumstances if they need to be changed, but while we are taking action, we must choose not to worry and chose to be happy. To do so is really quite simple. The choice is up to you, and it a choice that you must make each day.
The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
You simple people, use good judgment. You foolish people, show some understanding.

After the great flood, Noah was so anxious to rid the Ark of all the animals, and move onto a normal life. After investing 100 years building the Ark and then being quarantined for over a year with a bunch of smelly animals, Noah opens up the Ark and let all the animals out. Follow God’s commands, Noah stands at the door and tells every pair of animals to “Go forth and multiply!” This feat alone took over a week before all the animals were out of the Ark. After he thought all of the animals we out, he went back in to sweep the Ark clean and to make sure no animals or creatures were left behind. Noah thought he was all finished, but did one last walk through with his family checking every corner. As Noah was closing the great doors of the Ark, he hears something move in a dark corner. When checks closer, he notices that two snakes are sitting in a dark corner.
I hope that brought a smile to your face today. If it did pass your smile onto some else, we all could use a kind smile each day. Our Thursday thought is, “

Today’s highly charged and polarized political and societal daily events seem to be a mark of our modern times. If you listen to most of the news media or focus much time on social media, it is easy to become frustrated with the times we live in today. There seems to be a lack of love and compassion for anyone who does not align with our thoughts or beliefs. When we have this mindset, it is because we do not understand or accept God’s plans and purposes for our lives. God’s ways are so much better and higher than our thoughts and opinions. As Christ-followers, It is time for God’s church to rise above this frustration and show love and compassion even if we don’t agree with others. When we align our plans and purpose for life with God’s plan for continuing to build His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven, then our frustrations will subside, and we will better understand our purpose. We must never lose sight that every human is created by God to be bearers of His image. We do realize that many choose not to allow God to shine through them, but we must show them love and compassion regardless, just as God does to each of us. We will never understand God’s ways fully, but with Christ as our example and substitute, we can endeavor to be bearers of God’s image. Do so, and your frustrations will subside.
