Wisdom-Trek / Creating a Legacy
Welcome to Day 412 of our Wisdom-Trek, and thank you for joining me.
This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom
Setting Your Goals – Wisdom Unplugged
Thank you for joining us for our 5 days per week wisdom and legacy building podcast. This is day 412 of our trek, and it is Thursday and time for our 2-3 minute mini-trek called Wisdom Unplugged. This short nugget of wisdom includes an inspirational quote with a little additional content for today’s trek. Consider this your vitamin supplement of wisdom on Tuesday & Thursday. So let’s jump right in with today’s nugget.
Today’s quote is from an unknown author, but it does have a Biblical inference to it, “A wise person sets his earthly goals on heavenly gains.”
My entire premise for focusing on creating a living legacy each day springs from this wisdom concept. We all have a limited time here on earth, whether that is a few years or over one hundred years. Our lives are like the morning fog. We are here for a little while, and then we are gone, especially when considering eternity. So, the only way we can extend our impact on earth is through the impact that we have on the lives of others each day. That impact is not just on the people that we directly affect but everyone they impact throughout their lives. It goes on and on through many generations.
Just like you have been impacted by the generations that preceded you, so will your impact be felt throughout all eternity in the generations to come. Accumulating material wealth will only be of value if it is used to positively impact the lives of others for the generations that follow. As Jesus taught us in Matthew 6:19-21, “Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroys them, and where thieves break in and steal. Store your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal. Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.” Choose to create and live your legacy each day and have that lasting positive impact on eternity.
Thank you for allowing me to be your guide, mentor, and most importantly your friend as I serve you through the Wisdom-Trek podcast and journal each day.
As we take this trek of life together, let us always:
- Live Abundantly (Fully)
- Love Unconditionally
- Listen Intentionally
- Learn Continuously
- Lend to others Generously
- Lead with Integrity
- Leave a Living Legacy Each Day
This is Guthrie Chamberlain reminding you to Keep Moving Forward, Enjoy Your Journey, and Create a Great Day Every Day! See you tomorrow for Philosophy Friday!
